Summer events in Cornwall: A season of unmissable coastal celebration

With a new season on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to plan which summer events in Cornwall you’ll be heading to this year. And from big music events to festivals celebrating the best of Cornish culture, there’s plenty to get stuck into!

Here, we’ve done the hard work for you, and rounded up some of the unmissable events you’ll want to mark in your 2025 summer calendar.

Boardmasters Festival

Dates: 6 – 10 August 2025
Location: Newquay, Cornwall
Tickets: Boardmasters Official Website

This five-day surf and music festival happens every year on the rugged north coast of Cornwall. Since its inception in 1981, it’s become one the most popular events in the south west, drawing revellers from across the UK and beyond.

This year’s headliners include the likes of Raye, The Prodigy, and Central Cee (plus many other supporting acts), and you won’t want to miss the annual pro surf competition at Fistral Beach, either – where it all started!

If camping isn’t your thing (but you still want to be part of the fun), rest-assured Lewinnick Lodge is just minutes from this iconic festival location, with easy access by shuttle bus from Fistral Beach – a short walk from our front door – straight to the music site above Watergate Bay.

Aside from Boardmasters, the Royal Cornwall Show is arguably one of the county’s most popular (and anticipated) events of the year. Plus, its historic roots celebrating Cornish agriculture as far back as 1793 has firmly placed this show as a staple on the community calendar.

Here, expect live entertainment, livestock competitions, horse showing, and a myriad of local food and drink to showcase the best of Cornwall’s suppliers and artisan makers. No matter how old you are, there’s something here for everyone.
