Frequently asked questions

Arrivals

What time is check in?
Check in is from 3 pm.  If you’d like to check in before this time, please let our reservations team know and they’ll do their best to accommodate you where possible.

Can we have a late check in?
Yes of course, but you’ll need to let us know if you are planning on arriving any later than 11 pm.

What time is check out?
Check out is any time before 11 am.

Do you have a car park? 
Yes, we have free car park available on site. 

Can I pre book a car parking space if I am a hotel or restaurant guest?
Unfortunately, we do not reserve parking spaces. There is a Cornwall Council carpark at the top of the road that is open 24 hours if our parking spaces are full. 

Do you have disabled parking? 
Yes, we have two disabled parking spaces outside the main hotel entrance. 

Booking

What payment methods do you accept? 
We accept cash and the following credit or debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro. We do not accept American Express. 

Do I need to pay a deposit to confirm my reservation?
Yes, we will take a 50% deposit to secure the room reservation.

What are the booking terms and conditions?

Facilities

Do you have a car charging point? 
Yes, we have two Tesla’s and one electric car charger outside to the left of our main entrance.  These are reserved for residential hotel guests only.  

Do you have a spa?
We do not have any spa facilities,if you wish to book time in our spa or a treatment please speak to your host and they will be able to recommend some local options. 

Do you offer free wifi? 
Yes we do, please ask your hosts for the password.

How far is the beach?
Fistral beach is 1.2 miles away from us and it will take you around 23 minutes to walk there along the coast path. Crantock beach is 0.6 miles away from us and it will take about 16 minutes to walk there. Please note there is a bridge crossing over the river Gannel that can be used at low tide during peak season. During summer seasons there is a foot passenger ferry that can be used to cross during high tide. Out of season you’ll need to head to Penpol Creek to cross the river. 

 

Dogs

Can we bring our dog?
We offer some dog-friendly rooms in all our room types.  Please contact our reception team on 01637 878117 and we can view our availability. 

Is there an extra charge for bringing our dog? 
Yes, dogs are charged at an additional rate of £25 per room, per night. Dog beds and bowls are available on request. 

Is your restaurant dog-friendly? 
Unfortunately, our restaurant is not dog-friendly. but we welcome well behaved dogs in our bar area and terrace.

Can I book a dog-friendly table in the bar? 
Our bar area operates on a first come, first serve basis therefore we are unable to book any tables (with the exception of our hotel residents).

Restaurant and Bar

What are the restaurant opening times?
Our restaurant is open from 8am – 10pm.  We serve breakfast from 8am – 11:30am and our main menu from 12pm – 10pm in the summer and 12pm – 9:30pm in the winter.

Do I need to make a reservation?
We recommend making a reservation to dine in our restaurant, our bar operates on a first come, first serve basis.

What is the difference between the restaurant and bar?
We offer the same menu across both, with table service to all areas. The bar area is dog friendly and is available on a walk in basis, for the restaurant we would always advise making a booking. 

Can I book a table outside? 
Our terrace operates on a first come, first serve basis so there is no need to book.

Do I have to book a table if we want only drinks?
For drinks only, you can choose to sit in our bar area or terrace and these areas operate on a first come, first serve basis. 

What vegan options do you have?
We do have vegan and vegetarian dishes available. To view the menus click here. 

What’s the dress code? 
Casual or smart casual, no swimwear please. 

Do you do cream-teas?
Yes, we do. You can enjoy these in the bar or on the terrace, there is no need to book. 

Do you do afternoon teas?
We offer a Festive Afternoon Tea between 28th November and 30th December.

Can I request to book a table in the window?
Yes, you can add a request for a window table when you make a reservation but unfortunately we are unable to guarantee one. 

Are all your tables facing the sea?
Our restaurant is ocean facing, but not all of the tables are in in the window.

Do I need to pay a deposit to secure my table reservation?
No deposit needed to book a table in the restaurant, apart from special occasions (e.g. Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve).

Is the service charge included? 
Service charge is not included but it is very welcome. 

Is there a children’s menu?
Yes, for our most up to date children’s menu click here

What time do you serve roast until?
We serve Sunday lunch from midday until 4pm, but please not that this is on a first come, first serve basis.

Can I pay for my parent’s dinner? 
You can buy gift cards for a monetary value and experiences, click here to buy a gift card.

Can I purchase a bottle of fizz as a surprise? 
Of course, please call the restaurant direct where our team can talk you through our wine list and take payment over the phone. 

 

Rooms

Do the rooms have air conditioning?
Our rooms do not have air conditioning but we are able to provide fans if you would like one. 

Do all the room have baths and showers?
There is a bath and walk-in shower in all our rooms apart from Headland Double.

Do the rooms have heating?
Yes, there is heating in all of our rooms. 

What else do yo provide in the rooms?
As part of your stay we provide towels, dressing gowns, Bramley toiletries, water, and tea and coffee making facilities.  

Housekeeping
Rooms are serviced daily between 9am and midday. If you would prefer not to have your room cleaned please use your door hanger to notify housekeeping, for helping us to fulfil our commitment to being more sustainable we’ll send you a £5 voucher to be used in the bar or restaurant. 

Can I book a room with a bath in the window?
We’ll do our best to accommodate this request but not all of our rooms have baths in the window. Please speak to our reception team if you’d specifically like a a certain room number before making your reservation. 

Are their fridges in the rooms?
We do not provide fridges in the rooms, however if you need to put something in the fridge throughout your stay, please speak to your host. 

What size is the bed? 
All our our rooms have Super King sized beds except the Headland Double and the Family room.  

Is there a safe in the room?
We do not provide safes in the room. 

What size is the TV?
All of our TV’s are 42 inches. 

We’ve stayed with you before, can we book the same room?
We only guarantee a room type when booking, but we will try our best to accommodate our guests where possible. 

Where can we dry our wetsuits?
Unfortunately we don’t have facilities for drying wetsuits. 

Gift vouchers

Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes we do, you can buy monetary or experience vouchers online here.

Celebrations

Can I decorate my table?
Yes you are welcome to decorate the table, however we ask you to please not use confetti as it does leave a stain. 

Can you provide birthday candles?
For guarantee please bring your own birthday candles.  

Do you do sell birthday cakes?
No unfortunately we do not provide birthday cakes, but you are welcome to bring one.

Do you do anything special for anniversary?
We do not offer anything specific, but if you do have a request, please let us know and we will do our best to try and accommodate you. 

What else can you do to make it more special?
If you would like to pre-order something sparkling to be on the table ahead of your arrival please let us know in advance so we can make this arrangement.
